It seems the App Store doesn't offer iPhoto 9.0 for download. I presume purchasing iPhoto '11 (v.9.4.2) for $14.99 isn't going to work...because I know the most advanced version my system can handle is 9.2.3. I'm secretly hoping that if I go for the upgrade to 9.4.2, it'll take me as far as 9.2.3 and just leave me running that version. But, my hunch is the more likely scenario will be that the upgrade/installation will not be completed/fail. Can you please just confirm that my hunch (as opposed to my 'hope') is correct? Thanks!

Mountain Lion will be upgradable from Snow Leopard, so if you have not yet purchased Lion then it may be worth it to just wait and not go through two upgrades.

You can sync to the iPad via iTunes or using the Photo Stream or a shared Photo Stream. But if you can browse and store all your photos on the iPad, will depend on the available storage on your iPad. Using iTunes you can sync events, albums, faces stacks, places stacks to your iPad. Not many metadata tags will transfer however. You will need to do apps and books separately. Apple suggests using separate Apple IDs for them. There are far more regulations involved with books than with apps. The short answer to your question is a qualified yes, with more caveats for books than for apps.

I have a MacBook pro 2011. For some reason i have ended up with 2 Apple ID's i must have forgotten something or i changed my account name from when i first set up the machine. Some apps allow me to upgrade with one but not the other. I have upgraded to Yosemite via a clean install at the Apple store. I think you're confusing RAM memory with hard drive memory storage...the two aren't the same. Although you're being told you need 2GB of RAM to run Mountain Lion....I would consider 4GB the minimum. You should be able to upgrade the RAM in your iMac to 4GB for well under $100.
HELP, HELP, I am having difficulty making a DVD-R of some photos I have in one of my folders in iPhoto 11. I use iPhoto on my external HD. I have never had problems before today making copies of my photos using DVD-R disk. I am doing the same thing that worked before. Some of my photos are going to be put in a gallery for showing and I need to make a DVD so they can choose which ones to display and enlarge the photos. It was due TODAY! Yikes! At the end of each try I get a window saying 'BURN FAILED - The burn to the OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5670S drive failed. The disk drive didn't respond properly and can't recover or retry.' help...........
How are you getting the photo onto the disk to burn? Have you tried exporting then to a folder on the Desktop and then burning that folder to disk using the Finder. That will give you a data disk with just the jpeg image files in the folder. If that's what you're doing and getting the burn failed then it's a system or optical drive issue. If you're using the Share ➙ Burn menu in iPhoto that will create a disk with a mini iPhoto library on it that can only be used by another Mac running iPhoto. Can you elaborate on your workflow. OT

My App Store is working normally - I can browse around and look at apps. But when I go to the update-page and see there's a new update for Angry Birds and click the 'update', nothing happens, it just loads! Do you not see the sign in sheet? Mac App Store: Sign in sheet does not appear, or does not accept typed text And if you have anti virus software installed, disable that before trying to access the App Store. If you have Litlte Snich installed, that can prevent access to the App Store. Keep in mind, you can't update your existing apps from another Apple ID if you create a new account.

Content and Apple IDs - Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple Id to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with another Apple ID with a new ID.

Hello all, I just received my new MacBook Pro a few days ago, and after booting it the first time upgraded to the most recent Mac OS X (10.6). This of course installed the Mac App Store. The Mac App Store will open but will not load - period. It will not allow me to sign in, just always says loading and it never actually does (it does occasionally say that the store is unable to process my request, and to try again later). At any rate, it's been several days now, and I'm getting quite frustrated. I've removed the program and reinstalled the 10.6 upgrade just to see if that would help, and it didn't. The Mac App Store simply won't do anything except listing 'Loading' indefinitely. Any help that anyone can give would be greatly appreciated! S.
Hi, Yesterday i performed all updates available for my macbook pro, and now i have a few problems: - I cannot open my 'mac app store', when i try to start the application the sign 'moves' a couple of times in my dock, but it wont open. (thereafter the sign disappears since i don't have a shortcut on my dock). I tried to enter those lines in the terminal, this didn't help. - Also when i want to open some documents (pdf's, jpg's & exel files) preview & exel have the same problem, they just don't open. however, when i start the program myself i can open the documents (via archive) without a problem?! i hope you guys & gals can help me! I upgraded to Lion last week, but Aperture 3.2.2 is not showing up as an available update. Will I be stuck with 3.1.3 until Apple releases the next update? I'm not sure what to do. Thinking out loud...could the Mac App Store may be confused about what version of Aperture I'm using? I downloaded Lion on the first day that it was available, but I didn't install it because I had some Rosetta applications. In the interim from when I downloaded Lion and installed it, I think Aperture was updated to 3.1.3. Is there a way to reset the Mac App Store so that it will rescan my apps for available updates?
Is Aperture installed in the system Application folder as Aperture (noting else no Aperture3.1.3 or anything like that) Did you buy 3 from the App Store? Are you logging in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you used to buy Aperture? In the App Store in the Purchases tab what is listed? If all the above is OK then you could just remove Aperture from the Application folder (drag it to the Desktop) and then go to the App Store. It should allow you to download the app again and will give you the latest version.

My Mac App Store tells me that I've got at update for one of my programs, but when I open Mac App Store it's a update for Angry Birds, a game I don't have on my mac. Since my last comment I have come up with a way to hunt down the pirated app. All MAS apps have a MAS receipt in their app bundle. Check any app acquired from the MAS. Right click on the app's icon in your Apps folder and choose Show package contents. In the Contents folder is a _MASReceipt folder and in that folder is the coded MAS receipt. It has the Apple ID of the MAS account that bought/acquired the app from the MAS. It is that receipt that the MAS uses to alert you that an app has an update. There would not be a notice of an update with someone else's Apple ID showing in the MAS on your Mac, if there was not an app with a receipt from this person's account somewhere on your Mac. Download the free app FindAnyFile (FAF); http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/ This app is easier to use and seems to be more powerful than Spotlight. Open FAF and in the box type _MASReceipt and press Find. It should come up with a list of every app on the Mac with a MAS receipt. Compare the apps with receipts in FAF's list with your purchased apps list in the Mac App Store. The odd app out should be the pirated app.
The latest Apple update allows you to hide purchases in iTunes and Mac App Store. But to no avail am I able to find a way to permanetly delete Mac App Store Apps from the my account purchases.

I am having an issue where I try to install the 10.8.4 update from the Mac App Store. I click on the button and it says it needs to restart to install. I tell it to restart and install but it does nothing. I get the Mac App store back with it asking me to install the update again. Looking at the infobox I see that I am still on 10.8.3. Give this a try: Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button. Repair When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say 'Verified' then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is 'Verified' then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu. After this is completed download and install 10.8.4 Mountain Lion Update v10.8.4 (Combo).
The quickest way to try to fix it is to download the Mac OS X 10.6.7 Update Combo and manually install the update. It should fill in any missing gaps.
